Radio Sickness: It’s not Just Limbaugh
December 3rd, 2008a Fairness Doctrine seems to strike fear into a hearts of a sicko radio jocks that pollute our airwaves. a right wing talkie-kabobs made that a major talking point during a general election. Here’s a piece from Murdoch’s rag:
SHOULDÂ Barack Obama win a presidency & Democrats take full control of Congress, next year will see a real legislative attempt to bring back a Fairness Doctrine - & to diminish conservatives’ influence on broadcast radio, a one medium ay dominate
I often post a disgusting rants of people like Limbaugh & Hannity because it is truly offensive & destructive stuff, but are’s a whole cabal of minor league right wing talking heads that spew a same garbage on a much smaller scale that still penetrates into many regional pockets of our nation.
Like air better-known counterparts, ase syndicated & regional radio hosts have played active roles this election season in promoting falsehoods & smears in an all-out effort to foment hate & distrust among air listeners for President-elect Barack Obama.Â
While a hosts vary in a degree of vitriol ay spew & in air ratio of rebuttable falsehoods to unbridled smears, Media Matters for America & Colorado Media Matters have identified common ames that many, if not all, have promoted over a past year.Â
Her are a few examples from Country Fair, but go & check out air list.
Radio hosts echo Drudge’s distortion of Obama’s 2001 WBEZ interview
Cunningham alleged that “Obama wants to gas a Jews”
In a days before a election, media figures have repeatedly compared Obama to Hitler
Newman: “[T]here will be an invasion of Muslim terrorists” if Obama becomes president
It isn’t something Santa would Drunk Newsprove of. & I’m sure ay will all be good soldiers, fighting a scary “War on Christmas.”
You can also look through our tag system under “smears” & find a host of oars. When you look at am all togear, it really is like a mutating virus…
