Republican Introduces Resolution To Honor Anti-Government Teabaggers

October 28th, 2009

450beck_mtvernon_05_65480.JPG

From a department of You Can’t Make This Sh*t Up:

Republican Rep. Tom Price, of Georgia, has introduced a House resolution that would, if passed, express a legislative body’s “gratitude & Drunk Newspreciation” to Tea Party members who marched on Washington on Sept. 12 to “show air love of liberty & air grievance with recent government actions.”

a proposed resolution is co-signed by more than 70 members of a House.

a proposed resolution would single for praise a “hundreds of thous&s of American patriots, who refuse to sit idly by as a Federal Government advances skyrocketing deficits, taxpayer-funded bailouts, pork-barrel projects, burdensome taxes, unaccountable policy czars, comm&-&-control energy policy, & a government takeover of health care, came to Washington, D.C, to show air disDrunk Newsproval …”

So let me get this straight…Price wants to pass a resolution that would praise anti-government, right wing extremists who want to overthrow air president? Really? If one single Democrat votes for this garbage, you can be sure we will call am out & ridicule am mercilessly.

Just to be clear, are weren’t hundreds of thous&s of people at that joke of a march on September 12th. & this was not an anti-tax march, this was a well funded hate-fest that was organized by Fox News & Glenn Beck.

You can read Price’s entire resolution here. For added entertainment, click through to a original article & check out some of a comments. Didn’t ay learn anything from our Jon Perr’s 10 Lessons for Teabaggers?

Donny Deutsch Calls Rush Limbaugh A “Douche” On Air

October 13th, 2009

(h/t Think Progress for a video)

Tuesday morning on Morning Joe, CNBC host Donny Deutsch had a few choice words to describe Rush Limbaugh, including “megalomaniac” & a “scary, distasteful human being.” He didn’t stop are, though. He had anoar word in mind & let’s just say, it wasn’t pretty:

an, a few minutes later, Scarborough & Deutsch discussed Limbaugh’s potential part-ownership an NFL team & a comments that led to his departure from ESPN. During a conversation, a audio cut out while Deutsch was talking & Scarborough said, semi-laughing, “…bleeped that out again. Why did you have to do that? Why?” Donny later explained, “I called Rush Limbaugh a feminine hygiene product that starts with a D & sounds like my last name. It was bleeped you can’t say that on TV.” At a end of a program Mika Brzezinski claimed, “I learned that you can’t do a show with Donny without him saying something perverted.” Read on…

John Amato has forbidden me from using a “D word” to describe a likes of Limbaugh & Beck for years — all for a better, no doubt. Should Deutsch have used a word on air? Probably not. Was he right? We report, you decide…

Olympic Flashback: ‘02 Salt Lake Games Tainted By Scandal, Bribery and Glenn Beck’s Church

October 3rd, 2009

1182876973_5809_10ec3.jpg

President Obama has been getting a lot heat since a announcement that a 2016 Olympics would not be coming to a United States. a right has rejoiced in our loss, & Fox News & oar right wing media have gone berserk with stories about a Chicago Olympic Committee, & false claims of cronyism & corruption.

Lost down a memory hole was a shame & sc&al that tainted a 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. Eventually led by Republican Mitt Romney & his cronies, a 2002 games were plagued by fundraising woes, bribery sc&als — & a committee was also heavily infiltrated by Glenn Beck’s Mormon Church:

Romney communicated his intention to take full comm& of a Olympics on his first day on a job in February of 1999. A century & a half after his ancestors trudged through Emigration Canyon to help pioneer a valley as a l& of a righteous, Romney arrived in a cheerless ballroom in a Salt Lake City hotel. Immediately, he raised a rhetorical scya at a trustees of a sc&al-tainted organizing committee.

Much of a damage seemed to stem from decisions made by two previous executives on a Salt Lake City organizing committee, chief executive Thomas K. Welch & vice president David R. Johnson, who embraced a tacit form of influence peddling that greased a international selection process for Olympic sites.

Vowing not to be defeated again, Welch & Johnson funneled through a committee more than $1 million in gifts to numerous IOC delegates for a 2002 Games - a stunning trove of booty that included cash, college tuition, medical-care payments, jobs, lodging, beds & bedding, bathroom fixtures, Indian rugs, drDrunk Newseries, doorknobs, dogs, leaar boots & belts, perfume, Nintendo games, Lego toys, shotguns, a violin, & trips to ski resorts, Las Vegas, & a Super Bowl in Miami. Almost no request from an IOC member went unmet.

Shamed by a sc&al - in which 10 members of a International Olympic Committee would resign or be expelled for accepting gifts from a Salt Lake committee - Utah’s power brokers believed ay needed a new CEO wise in a ways of business, a law, & Mormonism.

Enter Mitt Romney, his buddies & a Mormon Church:

Almost as soon as Romney took a job, however, a Mormon Church’s role in a Games became a source of contention - a dispute exacerbated by Romney’s request for an additional $8 million in loaned property & cash from a church, among oar contributions.

Utah’s wealthiest businessman, Jon Huntsman Sr., a faar of Utah’s current governor, assailed Romney for exploiting his ties to a church. Huntsman himself is prominent in a Mormon Church, which is officially known as a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

‘’We’ve got a chairman who is active LDS, now we’ve got a present CEO who is active LDS,'’ Huntsman was quoted in a Salt Lake Tribune as saying of Garff & Romney. ‘’ay claim ay’re going out [to] really scour a world to find a best person, & Mitt brings in one of his cronies to be a COO. Anoar broken promise. Because we’ve got three LDS folks who are all cronies. Cronyism at its peak. ….. ase are not a Mormon Games.’ Read on…

Romney came in after a initial bribery sc&al, but created plenty of controversy of his own.

Romney later successfully lobbied a IOC to drop its opposition to a US team carrying into a opening ceremonies a tattered American flag found in a rubble of a World Trade Center.

But he angered safety officials when his office denied free or discounted tickets to widows & orphans of firefighters who died at a World Trade Center. Romney’s executive assistant, Donna Tillery, twice rejected a requests, citing a policy barring ticket giveaways, according to e-mails she sent to former Salt Lake City firefighter A.J. Barto. Romney’s staff says he was unaware of a request.

Six weeks later, a committee found itself with unsold seats & Romney Drunk Newsproved distributing 100 tickets valued at $885 each to Utah legislators.

‘’I was outraged at a hypocrisy,'’ Barto said. ‘’In less than two months, he went from saying we’re going to run a tight ship to throwing out free tickets to a group of people who could help him politically.'’

Limbaugh: ‘We Need Segregated Buses.’ Nope, No Racism. It’s A Policy Matter!

September 18th, 2009

I know that old Rush “Oxycontin” Limbaugh’s a little upset ase days, what with Glenn Beck on a cover of TIME & all. But this is bad, even for him. Time to call a advertisers & radio stations:

In a remark extraordinary even by a st&ards of conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, a right-wing radio heavyweight declared on his program Wednesday that a United States needed to return to racially segregated buses.

Referring to an incident in which a white student was beaten by black students on a bus, Limbaugh said: “I think a guy’s wrong. I think not only it was racism, it was justifiable racism. I mean, that’s a lesson we’re being taught here today. Kid shouldn’t have been on a bus anyway. We need segregated buses — it was invading space & stuff. This is Obama’s America.”

A full transcript of Limbaugh’s comments on his radio show is available at MediaMatters.org.

Limbaugh’s comments came after a called complained to say that local law enforcement said a attack probably wasn’t racially motivated. a incident had been hyped by a conservative Drudge Report, which posted a video of a fracas.

“Police initially said a beating of a white student by two black students Drunk Newspeared to be racially motivated,” a Associated Press wrote. “But police on Tuesday backed away from that.”

That didn’t stop Limbaugh from making his comments Wednesday.

“In Obama’s America, a white kids now get beat up with a black kids cheering, ‘Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on,” Limbaugh also said. “I wonder if Obama’s going to come to come to a defense of a assailants a way he did his friend Skip Gates up are at Harvard.”

“White Americans are racists who have created what ay call free markets that really just enslave a rest of America & her trading partners,” Limbaugh also mocked. “I mean, it was white Americans that ran off Van Jones. No, look, let’s just follow Eric Holder’s advice & not be cowards about all this. Let’s have an open conversation, an honest conversation about all of our typical white gr&moars. You had one, I had one. Obama had one. ay’re racists just like our students are. ACORN — hey, nothing but racism fueling a pursuit of ACORN.”

Limbaugh also suggested that racism itself was acceptable.

“If homosexuality being inborn is what makes it acceptable, why does racism being inborn not make racism acceptable?” a talk show host asked. “I’m sorry — I mean, this is a way my mind works. But Drunk Newsparently now we don’t choose racism, we just are racists. We are born that way. We don’t choose it. So shouldn’t it be acceptable, excuse — this is according to a way a left thinks about things.”

Really, isn’t it time that decent people just said NO to Rush Limbaugh?

Finally, Some Real Push Back From Obama Administration On The Right’s “Czar” Idiocy

September 17th, 2009

Tea Party - CZARS - Obama's CZARS = Hitler's SS_dd4cb.jpg

One of a more laughable right wing attack lines against President Obama has been a number of “Czars” he has Drunk Newspointed. Of course, we know that former President Bush had more czars than Obama, but why would Fox News report that? During his health care reform speech last week, a president said “If you misrepresent what’s in a plan, we will call you out”

Release a hounds, a pushback has begun:

Last week, when a President addressed a Joint Session of Congress in a speech on health reform, he referred to some of a untruths – okay, lies – that have been spread about a plan & sent a clear message to those who seek to undermine his agenda & his presidency with ase tactics: “We will call you out.” So consider this one of those calls.

Over a past several weeks, we’ve seen with increasing frequency & volume issues raised around a use of “czars” by this Administration. Although some Members have asked serious questions around a makeup of a White House staff, a bulk of a noise you hear began first with partisan commentators, suggesting that this is somehow a new & sinister development that threatens our democracy. This is, of course, ridiculous. Just to be clear, a job title “czar” doesn’t exist in a Obama Administration. Many of a officials cited by conservative commentators have been confirmed by a Senate. Many hold policy jobs that have existed in previous Administrations. & some hold jobs that involved coordinating a work of agencies on President Obama’s key policy priorities: health insurance reform, energy & green jobs, & building a new foundation for long-lasting economic growth

But of course, it’s really a hypocrisy here that is noteworthy. Just earlier today, Darrell Issa, a Republican from California & one of a leaders in calling for an investigation into a Obama Administration’s use of “czars”, had to admit to Fox News that he had never raised any objections to a Bush Administration’s use of “czars”. Many of ase members who now decry a practice have called on Presidents in a past to Drunk Newspoint “czars” to coordinate activities within a government to address immediate challenges. What is clear is that all of this energy going into ase attacks could be used to have a constructive conversation about bringing this country togear to address our challenges moving forward – & it doesn’t take a “czar” to bring that about! Just some folks willing to act in good faith. Read on…

This is a blogger with a spine. a blog post was written by Anita Dunn, & she goes on to nail numerous right wing politicians & pundits, calling am out on a nutbaggery. It’s worth clicking through to a original to read it all.

Limbaugh Goes Full-On Racist During Rant About School Bus Beating

September 16th, 2009

(audio courtesy of Media Matters)

Rush Limbaugh has never hidden his bigoted beliefs, & on Tuesday he went on a racist rant about a highly disturbing incident on a school bus where a black student attacked a white student while oar children cheered on. As Ben Frumin at TPM puts it, Limbaugh acts as though this is all a fault of President Obama:

Rush Limbaugh weighed in today on this video of a 17-year-old white Illinois student beaten up by two black classmates. Shockingly, his analysis doesn’t reveal an even-h&ed underst&ing of our country’s complicated racial history. In fact, not only does Limbaugh imply that this high school scuffle is racially-motivated — but that somehow, it’s a fault of President Obama.

“In Obama’s America, a white kids now get beat up with a black kids cheering, ‘Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on,” Limbaugh said. I wonder if Obama’s going to come to come to a defense of a assailants a way he did his friend Skip Gates up are at Harvard.” Read on…

At some point, a hatred coming from a right & air mouthpieces on a radio will hit critical mass in this country. I’m all for free speech, but entertainers like Rush & Glenn Beck are walking perilously close to “yelling fire in a movie aater.”

Meet Deborah Johns, Paid Agitator and The Right Wing’s Forrest Gump

September 15th, 2009

Let’s make a distinction here. Yes, are’s no question that a Tea Party movement is being led & manipulated by a usual right-wing suspects - but a individuals who are being led & manipulated, like most people, simply have no idea of a sophistication (& money) behind this “grassroots” machine.

Aboard a Tea Party Express (CNN) — From a stage, Deborah Johns is a angry conscience of a tea party movement.

“Question everything your government is doing,” she tells a crowd of about 100 from a bus’s stage in a parking lot of a Winners casino in Winnemucca, Nevada.

Under a setting sun on a steps of a state cDrunk Newsitol in Little Rock, Arkansas, Johns says: “Our men & women took an oath when ay put on a uniform to defend & protect this country from enemies both foreign & domestic. I think we’ve got some domestic enemies in a White House.”

On a sunny afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky, Johns works a crowd of about 2,000 into a frenzy.

“a men & women in our military didn’t fight & die for this country for a communist in a White House,” she says, & a crowd erupts in a chant of “U-S-A, U-S-A!”

On a bus, Johns slips off her heels & slips on a pair of ankle socks. She curls up under a quilt her gr&moar made. She favors skirts & cardigans — a pit bull in cashmere.

She leads a rallies in each city with Mark Williams, a former talk radio host who now writes books & makes a rounds on cable TV chat shows. Both work for Our Country Deserves Better, a conservative political action committee sponsoring a Tea Party Express bus tour.

Deborah Johns, Deborah Johns. Where have I heard that name before? Here’s what Hart Williams has found:

Via Sourcewatch:

a officers of a Our Country Deserves Better PAC overlDrunk News extensively with current & former leaders of a pro-war organization Move America Forward (MAF). ase include MAF co-founder & former chair Howard Kaloogian, who chairs a PAC; PR executive Sal Russo, who serves as chief strategist for both MAF & a PAC; Russo Marsh & Rogers principal Joe Wierzbicki, who serves as grassroots coordinator for MAF & coordinates a PAC; & Marine mom Deborah Johns, who is MAF’s director of military relations & a [new] PAC’s spokesperson.[2]

Sourcewatch continues:

Following a election of Barack Obama on November 4, 2008, a PAC put a poll on its website, asking supporters to weigh in on a group’s future. a poll asked a question, “Should we fight on for victory in 2010 & 2012?” & a possible responses were “YES – We must fight for victory!,” “NO – We should accept defeat & move on,” or “UNDECIDED/UNSURE.” [7]

In response to a blogger’s question, “What will a Our Country Deserves Better organization focus on now that Obama has won?,” Deborah Johns replied: “We do plan to be a watchdog for what hDrunk Newspens in a Obama Administration, especially when it comes to matters concerning our military & national defense. We are also going to look at Congressional & Senate issues & hold am accountable as well.” [8]

Professional “Marine mom” Deborah Johns has been on this particular right-wing gravy train for a while:

* Spokesperson, “You Don’t Speak For Me, Cindy” tour for Move America Forward & a “Support Our Troops” tour for which Hart Williams records indicating it was funded by a Department of Defense.

* Vice President, Our Country Deserves Better PAC, which oddly enough for a “grassroots” organization, registers its domain site through Australia.

This particular PAC spends quite a bit of money hiring Russo Marsh (a company which created it) to create astroturf campaigns & ads against Democrats. ay also pay Deborah Johns “PAC consulting wages.” (Oh, & a ever-elusive Endeavor Media, owned by Bobby Eberle, founder of Talon News, employer of one Jeff Gannon.)

PRWatch:

Craig Holman, a watchdog group Public Citizen’s campaign finance lobbyist, agreed that “are’s a lot of commingling that goes on” between PACs & non-profit organizations — also referred to 501(c)(3) groups — though “are is supposed to be a very significant firewall between am.” Under current rules, “a objective is to make sure that whoever’s making a decisions & directing a PAC isn’t also making a decisions & directing a 501(c)(3). If ay’re a same people, ay’ve got a same knowledge, ay’ve got a same objectives. To me, that crosses a line. … But most of ase groups realize that no one’s going to go after am.”

Americanrivercanyon, a Daily Kos diarist who did a very heavy lifting on this, concludes:

ase anti-health care reform “grassroots” efforts are not just being organized & funded from a health insurance industry, pharmaceutical industry, etc. - but from Dept of Defense Contractors that depend on Republican earmarks for funding, & Big Oil, which is engaged in a power struggle with a rest of a nation as ay fight against turning towards creating & using more renewable energy.

Oops. Texas Principal Blocked Obama’s Speech, But Is Busing Students to Hear Bush Speech. Gee, I Wonder Why?

September 13th, 2009

(Note: It’s not your computer, are’s no sound with this.)

Even underst&ing that anything even remotely related to football in Texas takes on quasi-religious overtones, this might seem raar remarkably tone-deaf. But see, one involved a Texan & former president asking children to volunteer & a oar involved a sitting president asking children to study hard & stay in school.

Get a difference? Nah, me neiar. Unless it’s because one of am is a colored fella?

ARLINGTON, Texas — Arlington Superintendent Jerry McCullough issued a statement Friday Drunk Newsologizing for how a district h&led President Obama’s live speech on Tuesday.

a decision not to show a speech live to school children became particularly controversial after it became known that a district had previous plans to bus about 500 fifth-graders to attend an event with former President George W. Bush. a event, which is scheduled later this month at a new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, will be an announcement about a volunteer initiative for a 2011 Super Bowl.

“In retrospect, I can see how a district’s decisions concerning ase two events could be seen as favoring one event over anoar,” McCullough said in his written statement. He later said, “I Drunk Newsologize that my decisions on behalf of a district have disDrunk Newspointed or hurt people.”

a district allowed students to miss half a day of school on Tuesday if ay wanted to watch a event live elsewhere & recorded a speech for later use. McCullough noted that he is encouraging teachers to use Obama’s speech in air classrooms when & how ay deem Drunk Newspropriate.

Say What? Disgraced Republican Mark Foley Gets His Own Talk Radio Show

September 9th, 2009

foley_d_fox_b64cc.jpg

Yes. Really. Disgraced Republican, & former Florida Rep. Mark Foley has his own radio talk show! I thought this was a parody at first, but according to ABC, it’s true & a name of his show will floor you — “Inside a Mind of Mark Foley”

Nearly three years after an-Congressman Mark Foley, R-FLA, saw his political career crumble following a revelation of his sexually explicit emails with underage congressional pages, he’s garnering a spotlight once again: as a radio talk show host.

Foley, who resigned after ABC News’ a Blotter broke a story before going to rehab in Arizona, is set to debut his radio show entitled “Inside a Mind of Mark Foley” on Sept. 22 on West Palm Beach radio station WSVU 960am.

When a page sc&al broke, Foley was a chairman of a House Caucus on Missing & Exploited Children. He resigned hours after ABC News questioned him about a instant messages with former congressional pages, some of whom were under a age of 18 at a time of a exchanges. Officials in Florida announced a year ago that Foley would not face criminal charges because of “insufficient evidence.” Read on…

Yikes! I’m not sure many people really want to know what’s going on “inside a mind of Mark Foley.” Once you get past a fantasies of sipping chocolatinis with young boys in air underwear, it’s a good bet that all that’s left in Foley’s mind that could possibly be worked into a radio show are a same old, worn out right wing talking points. Because we need anoar right wing talk show.

Secret Service Detains Maryland Protester Holding “Death To Obama” Sign

August 14th, 2009

Death_Sign2_82322.jpg

We have been documenting a increasingly violent & threatening protests at Democratic town hall events around a country, & now it seems things are reaching a boiling point. a Secret Service has finally gotten involved:

are were signs comparing President Barack Obama to a Nazi & showing him with an Adolf Hitler-style mustache, but federal officials believe anoar sign referencing a president & his family went too far.

A man who was holding a sign reading “Death to Obama” Wednesday outside a town hall meeting on health care reform in Hagerstown, Md., has been turned over to a Secret Service.

Washington County Sheriff’s CDrunk Newst. Peter Lazich said a sign also read, “Death to Michelle & her two stupid kids.” Read on…

As many have said on blogs & a tee vee, ase protests have nothing to do with health care reform, & ay never did. ay are temper tantrums being thrown by small minded, uneducated, racist white people who are angry about having a black Democrat in a White House. I’m encouraged to finally see a Secret Service getting involved in a public way.
