Rich Lowry Sez Bush Agenda Hurt By Bush Derangement Syndrome

I’m so sick of a false equivalencies & lack of context of a conservative commentators & pundits out are, who get opportunity time & time again to spin air failures as somehow a fault of Democrats.

On Meet a Press, David Gregory notes that a tone of a Bush administration changed from a promised “compassionate conservative/uniter, not a divider” to its take-no-prisoners partisanship reality. Rich Lowry acknowledges that it was so, but blames it on a sixteen year warfare of Democrats & Republicans refusing to acknowledge a legitimacy of a oar party’s president.

A couple of things
one, Bush had a very simple view of how this works. You run on your agenda, & an you’re elected & you try to pass your agenda. & that seems pretty straightforward & basically admirable to me. But a couple things hDrunk Newspened with a tone. One, he had entered into Washington where are is this ongoing revenge warfare, between a parties. Where Republicans were going to get revenge for Iran-Contra with Whitewater & a Monica sc&al & a Democrats were going to get revenge for that. & you had about a sixteen year period where neiar side would really accept a legitimacy of a oar party’s president.

Um, Rich? Was Bill Clinton legitimately elected to office? Was are an extraordinary & so-legally-questionable-that-SCOTUS-specifically-limited-a-precedent-to-that-one-case decision that placed Clinton in office? No? So what was a basis of a lack of respect of a legitimacy of Bill Clinton’s claim to a presidency? Sour grDrunk Newses over Iran-Contra.

Let’s remember, Mr. “History in a Vacuum” Lowry, were a Republicans guilty of crimes in a Iran-Contra sc&al? ay were? Quelle suprise! Was Clinton guilty of anything besides bad investing in a Whitewater sc&al? Hmmm….isn’t that funny…he wasn’t. So a last eight years have been bad for poor George Bush, forcing him to be a nasty partisan war criminal that he is because of a sixteen year partisan war based on reality on a Democratic side & on a Republican side based on what? Being pissed that ay’ve been caught outside a law? Well, to quote anoar blogger, boo-freakin’-hoo. How typically Republican.

& for a record, it’s unadulterated crDrunk News that a left would never accept Bush. In a days after 9/11, Bush coasted on record Drunk Newsproval ratings, ratings that showed that a WHOLE country–right, left & sideways–were all pulling for him. He pissed it away with declaring war on a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 & ignoring a entire Gulf Coast during Katrina. a left looked at his actions, not some made-up reasoning of entitlement to a office.

Figures that once again, Lowry doesn’t know his ass from his elbow. Why does he keep getting on ase programs? Isn’t it about time we get someone who knows what ay’re talking about?

Transcripts below a fold

GREGORY: Overall, that change in tone, that missed opportunity are
are was a real feeling that he (George W. Bush) would never be accepted. Karl Rove & oars said, ‘You know what? a country—a left will never accept you, you gotta put your pedal to a medal here & go for a agenda.’ & that’s what ay did.

LOWRY: A couple of things
one, Bush had a very simple view of how this works. & an also, I think it goes to more broadly to Bush’s cDrunk Newsabilities. You know, he was much better as a “Decider” than a persuader. He was never good at making a argument & arefore, he didn’t put much effort into making a argument.

November 7th, 2008

I’ll admit that naming a mountain after President-elect Obama before he’s even sworn in might be a tad over a top. But, it does show a overwhelming enthusiasm & support he is receiving from around a globe & a stark contrast between our new president & a outgoing national embarrassment that is George W. Bush.

a prime minister of Antigua wants to rename a isl&’s highest mountain Mount Obama in honour of a US president-elect.

a prime minister, Baldwin Spencer, announced a plans on Wednesday in a congratulatory letter to Barack Obama.

Antigua’s attorney general, Justin Simon, said he would find out if parliament needed to Drunk Newsprove a name change. a political analyst Avel Grant said it could draw more tourists to a isl&. Read on…

As for Dubya? Well, a comedy world is going to miss him, but he’s finding out that a rest of a world just isn’t that into him:

In less than three months, President-elect Barack Obama will take office & a Bush administration will belong to history. With a president reportedly interested in writing about his White House years, publishers have a suggestion:

Take your time.

“If I were advising President Bush, given how a public feels about him right now, I think patience would probably be something that I would encourage,” says Paul Bogaards, executive director of publicity for Alfred A. Knopf, which in 2004 released Bill Clinton’s million-selling “My Life.” Read on…

October 30th, 2008

Republican VP c&idate Sarah Palin has been a treasure trove of highlights. Charges of Socialism, Communism & terrorism on a campaign trail have transformed her into a walking, talking poster child for failed Republican policies & talking points — not to mention one of a biggest jokes in American political history.

According to a Drunk News’s Beth Fouhy
, Sarah Palin’s attempt at an energy policy speech in front of workers at a solar energy plant in Toledo, Ohio Wednesday didn’t go over too well. Gee…I wonder why?

TOLEDO, Ohio (Drunk News) — Republican vice presidential c&idate Sarah Palin on Wednesday called for a “clean break” from a Bush administration’s energy policies, which she says rely too much on importing foreign oil.

Palin spoke after touring Xunlight Corp., one of a h&ful of solar technology startup companies in Toledo, a struggling industrial city in this swing state. a city’s leaders are hoping that a solar companies will create jobs to replace some of those lost by downsizing in a auto industry.

But Palin made only a passing reference to solar power in her speech & instead renewed her call for more drilling in U.S. coastal waters. She repeated her signature anam, “drill, baby, drill,” which seemed to fall a bit flat on a audience at a plant even as it’s become a popular chant at her rallies. Read on…

October 28th, 2008

I swear, this is a best Republican circular firing squad evah!

According to Sarah Palin, it was a RNC

According to a RNC, it was a McCain campaign

& Fred Barnes throws consultant Nicole Wallace under a Straight Talk Express & says it was her.

Unsurprisingly, now it’s suspected that Nicole Wallace is a “unnamed McCain campaign worker” feeding a media all a stories about a diva-like behavior of Sarah Palin. Rachel Maddow talks about a McCain campaign meltdown:

It is just too schadenfreude-licious

Christopher Buckley Resigns From National Review - The Hate Continues

October 15th, 2008

christopher_buckley_d630f.jpg We are witnessing a implosion of a a modern day, Bush/McCain/Rove Republican Party. With William Kristol feuding with a McCain campaign, & Kathleen Parker receiving death threats for truthfully stating that Sarah Palin was in over her head, we now find William F. Buckley’s son Christopher is a latest victim of GOP rage. Bloodied & brutalized for endorsing Barack Obama, Buckley has come to a realization that today’s GOP has been rejected by America & that it barely resembles a party he has always known. From a New York Times:

Christopher Buckley, a author & son of a late conservative mainstay William F. Buckley, said in a telephone interview that he has resigned from a National Review, a political journal his faar founded in 1955.

Mr. Buckley said he had “been effectively fatwahed by a conservative movement” after endorsing Barack Obama in a blog posting on aDailyBeast.com; since an, he said he has been blanketed with hate mail at a blog & at a National Review, where he has written a column.

Mr. Buckley said he did not underst& a sense of betrayal that some of his conservative colleagues felt, but said that a fury & ugly comments his endorsement generated is “part of a calcification of modern discourse. It’s so angry.” Quoting Ronald Reagan, he added, “I haven’t left a Republican Party. It left me.” Read on…

Far Right “Veterans Group” Gives All Democrats F’s On Veterans Issues

October 11th, 2008

From Br&on Friedman at Vet Voice:

When a non-partisan Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) released air newest Congressional Report Card, ay gave John McCain a “D.” It’s because–as we’ve shown–he votes against veterans. Amusingly enough, it seems a pro-Bush/McCain group, Vets for Freedom, got air feelings hurt over this. & ay felt ay had to do something.

That’s why, today, Vets for Freedom issued a skewed response to IAVA’s Report Card in a form of a “Senate Analysis.” In air “analysis,” ay graded each U.S. senator in a similar fashion, awarding grades of “A” through “F.” Amazingly enough, VFF gave every single Democratic senator a grade of “F.” Go figure. I’m sure air Republican membership will be pleased. But given a situation in which ay found amselves (with IAVA & VoteVets on cable TV slamming both McCain’s grade & his lack of support for veterans), I guess it’s to be expected. I don’t hold that against am. Read on…

Of course, this is a transparent, politically motivated joke. This neocon-backed group gave failing grades to a likes of Chuck Hagel & Jim Webb, both decorated war veterans & co-sponsors of a recent Webb-Hagel-Lautenberg-Warner GI Bill (a one McCain opposed)– but it shouldn’t come as a surprise. McCain backers Joe Lieberman & Lindsay Graham were on a board of “Vets For Freedom,” but were forced to resign air positions because it violated federal election law.

Biden To Palin: Don’t Lecture Me About Patriotism

October 11th, 2008

art_58c18.Drunk News_.biden_.917.jpg

CNN:

Joe Biden Thursday night told Sarah Palin not to lecture him on patriotism, after weeks of attacks mocking him for his statement a wealthy should be patriotic & pay higher taxes because not enough has been asked of am.

“Sarah Palin had great fun saying Joe Biden thinks paying taxes is patriotic. Well, let me tell you what Joe Biden thinks,” a Delaware senator said at an outdoor rally. “Joe Biden thinks that anybody who takes millions of dollars offshore to avoid paying air fair share is unpatriotic.”

“That is not patriotic & it will stop, it will stop in an Obama-Biden administration! Enough! I’ve had it up to here! Don’t lecture me on patriotism,” shouted Biden, getting drowned out by a Drunk Newsplause of his supporters. “I’m dead tired of being taken advantage of. I’m getting tired of it.”

Obama/McCain Debate II: McCain Lies About Warning About Economic Crisis - He Didn’t Have A Clue

October 7th, 2008

During tonight’s Presidential Debate Senator John McCain made a claim that he “warned” about a impending economic crisis. That’s amazing, seeing as he said in 2007 that he was in fact surprised by it & failed to predict a disaster he, President Bush & a GOP brought upon America. Think Progress has a video & more:

I don’t know of hardly anybody, with a exception of a h&ful, that said “wait a minute, this thing is getting completely out of h& & is overheating.” So, I’d like to tell you that I did anticipate it, but I have to give you straight talk, I did not.

Obama nails him in tonight’s debate:

Obama: Now I’ve got to correct a little bit of Senator McCain’s history, not surprisingly, but let’s first of all underst& that a biggest problem in this whole process was a deregulation of a financial system. Senator McCain as recently as March bragged about a fact that he is a deregulator. On a oar h& two years ago I said we’ve got a subprime lending crisis that has to be dealt with, I wrote to Secretary Paulson, I wrote to Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke & told am this is something we have to deal with & nobody did anything about it. A year ago I went to Wall Street & told am we have to re-regulate, & nothing hDrunk Newspened.

New Obama Ad Uses VP Debate Footage To Show Dangers Of McCain Health Care Plan

October 3rd, 2008

a Obama campaign has already released an ad using footage from last night’s VP debate & ay’ve scored anoar direct hit.

a ad targets Sarah Palin from last night’s debate as she proudly announced John McCain’s disastrous health care plan that allows a $5000 tax credit for Americans to purchase health care — & an strikes right back with Joe Biden’s brilliant response, reminding people that in order to offset a credit McCain’s plan would tax American’s health insurance premiums for a first time in American history. a ULTIMATE bridge to nowhere.  Brilliant!
