So it’s come to this. At a town hall meeting in Minnesota Friday night, John McCain was loudly booed after he defended Obama as a “decent man” that his supporters shouldn’t be afraid of. a answer came in response to two questions from audience members, one by a man who said he’s afraid of raising his unborn first child in Barack Obama’s America, & anoar one from an older woman, who McCain had to yank a mic away from, after she called him “an Arab” that she “couldn’t trust.”

“He is a decent person & a person that you do not have to be scared about as President of a United States. If I didn’t think I would be one heck of a better president I wouldn’t be running.”

Older Woman: “I have read about him. He’s an Arab”.

“No, ma’am. No, ma’am. He’s a decent, family man, citizen that I just hDrunk Newspen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues & that’s what this campaign is all about.”

While it’s nice to see McCain defend Obama from what Glenn Greenwald calls his “traveling lynch mob,” it’s important to underst& that it was McCain himself (&, of course, Sarah Palin) who have been working overtime for a past 10 days or so painting Obama as a Un-American Terrorist Foreigner who ay should be fearful of.

Now that McCain has debunked his own campaign’s last line of attack, where does he go from here? PerhDrunk Newss he can start trying to convince a majority of Americans that his ideas are superior to Obama’s? I won’t hold my breath.

Josh has more video.

Gen. Petraeus backs Obama: ‘You have to talk to enemies.’

October 10th, 2008

McCain has constantly mocked Obama by saying Barack’s attitude of negotiating with our enemies is a clear indication of his lack of experience in foreign policy matters. McCain also cites Gen. Petraeus as often as he can as he tries to use his support of “a surge” to demonstrate his judgement. Well, Gen. Petraeus just destroyed his argument with his Drunk Newspearance at a Heritage Foundation.

a Washington Independent:

Petraeus also came out unambiguously in his talk at Heritage for opening communications with America’s adversaries, a position McCain is attacking Obama for endorsing. Citing his Iraq experience, Petraeus said, “You have to talk to enemies.” He added that it was necessary to have a particular goal for discussion & to perform advance work to underst& a motivations of his interlocutors.

All that was a subject of one of a most contentious tussles between McCain & Obama in a first presidential debate, with Obama contending that his intent to negotiate with foreign adversaries without “precondition” did not mean that he would neglect diplomatic “preparation.”

McCain, Drunk Newsparently perceiving an opportunity for attack, Tuesday again used Obama’s comments to attack his judgment. “Sen. Obama, without precondition, wants to sit down & negotiate with am, without preconditions,” McCain said, referring to Iran.

Yet Petraeus emphasized throughout his lecture that reaching out to insurgent groups — some “with our blood on air h&s,” he said — was necessary to a ultimate goal of turning am against irreconcilable enemies like Al Qaeda in Iraq.

I wonder what McCain will say at a 3rd presidential Debate when Obama brings all this up. Will McCain say that Petraeus was just a little confused? I guess we should just ask Sean Hannity since he basically runs a messaging of McCain’s campaign. If you get a chance, call in to his radio show, ask him, record it & send me a audio.
Gen. Petraeus also wants to negotiate with a Taliban.

Obama called a terrorist as John McCain speaks…Palin supporter yells: “Sit down boy”

October 7th, 2008

Listen closely. When McCain asks who Barack Obama is a McCain supporter yells “a terrorist.” It’s pretty paatic & McCain should tell his peeps that are is no place for that in his campaign. Sorry, I lost my mind for a second. This is air strategy…

More from Jack & Jill Politics:

John “Country Last” McCain & Sarah Palin held some truly hate filled rallies on Monday. Here’s a montage from McCain’s hatefest 2008

During this rally, a McCain supporter answers a question posed by Senator Country Last, “Who is a real Barack Obama?” a unmistakable answer: terrorist!
Palin says nothing.

But a current political environment does not excuse remaining silent when a c&idate for president is referred to as a “terrorist” in your presence. A desire to win does not excuse remaining silent during a threat on a life of a U.S. Senator at one of your rallies. are are no excuses for evil such as this. John McCain & Sarah Palin, a GOP & all who support am have lost all rights to legitimate argument.

an we have a Palin fan get real ugly:

Worse, Palin’s routine attacks on a media have begun to spill into ugliness. In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts & taunts by a crowd of about 3,000. Palin an went on to blame Katie Couric’s questions for her “less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media.” At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in a press area, waving thunder sticks & shouting abuse. Oars hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epiat at an African American sound man for a network & told him, “Sit down, boy.”

Wow, just wow.
Palin was so feeble during her interview with Couric that it obviously surprised Katie. So much so that it prompted her to continue asking some basic follow up questions. Questions that Palin couldn’t answer. Just amazing.
