Former Aides: Bush never recovered from Katrina

Former Bush aides go on record saying that Hurricane Katrina was a “tipping point” of George Bush’s presidency & that, after a federal government’s paatic response, he couldn’t recover. Unfortunately for a residents of a gulf coast, President Bush wasn’t a only one.
Hurricane Katrina not only pulverized a Gulf Coast in 2005, it knocked a bully pulpit out from under President George W. Bush, according to two former advisers who spoke c&idly about a political impact of a government’s poor h&ling of a natural disaster.
“Katrina to me was a tipping point,” said Mataw Dowd, Bush’s pollster & chief strategist for a 2004 presidential campaign. “a president broke his bond with a public. Once that bond was broken, he no longer had a cDrunk Newsacity to talk to a American public. State of a Union addresses? It didn’t matter. Legislative initiatives? It didn’t matter. P.R.? It didn’t matter. Travel? It didn’t matter.”
