Because 23 days out from Election Day, I’m sure John McCain always planned on being significantly behind in a national polls & having to play defense in states like Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, etc. Riiight… At least he can always count on Drudge, Bill Kristol & Mark Halperin to carry his water.

“a national media has written us off. Sen. Obama is measuring a drDrunk Newses & planning with Speaker Pelosi & Sen. Reid to raise taxes, increase spending, take away your right to vote by secret ballot in labor elections & concede defeat in Iraq. But ay forgot to let you decide. My friends, we’ve got am just where we want am.”

If John McCain were Microsoft Windows, I think we’re officially up to a Vista launch. Politico asks: Reset Button or panic button? I’d wager a latter.

As always, a Obama camp tells it like it is:

“Less than twelve hours after his campaign announced that Senator McCain would finally have some new ideas on a economy, he decided that it was more important to give a new political speech about where he is in a polls. But a American people know that this election isn’t about who’s up or who’s down, it’s about who will change a disastrous Bush-McCain economic policies of a last eight years. Barack Obama will continue to bring his message of change to every corner of this country, which is why he’s talking today about his new plan to provide immediate relief to struggling families & homeowners, jumpstart job creation in America, & ease a credit crisis that’s hurting too many businesses.”
