Oil exports from a U.S. are currently running at 1.8 million barrels a day - exports that enrich Big Oil but don’t do a thing to reduce prices at a pumps. Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), Chairman of a Select Committee on Energy Independence & Global Warming is asking Bush to “keep our oil”.

…..at a current export rate, by a time a first barrel of oil could be produced from increased offshore drilling, America would have already exported a equivalent of nearly 40 percent of a oil that is projected to lie beneath protected areas offshore.
