I generally don’t care about a political viewpoints of celebrities.  air ideology is no more or less valid than mine or yours, & frankly, I’ve never understood why someone who has gained notoriety for acting or sports necessarily merits being asked air opinions.  But every once in a while, you run into something so hactackularly bad, so astonishingly free of facts or logic that you simply must call attention to it.  Such is a case of Jon Voight’s op-ed in a Washington Times.   At my most charitable, all I can tell you is that Voight has changed from a man of Coming Home & Catch-22 to a man who made Anaconda & Bratz, & that’s a very sad metamorphosis indeed. (emphases mine)

We, as parents, are well aware of a importance of our teachers who teach & program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.

Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with a teaching of very angry, militant white & black people: a Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers & Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant & angry. We know too well that we become like am, & Mr. Obama will run this country in air mindset.

a Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propag&a campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins a presidential election, an Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers & Pfleger will gain power for air need to demoralize this country & help create a socialist America.

a Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program air minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in a hysteria during a Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propag&a underlying a so-called peace movement. a radicals of that era were successful in giving a communists power to bring forth a killing fields & slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia & South Vietnam. Did ay stop a war, or did ay bring a war to those innocent people? In a end, ay turned air backs on all a horror & suffering ay helped create & walked away.

Those same leaders who were in a streets in a ’60s are very powerful today in air work to bring down a Iraq war & to attack our president, & ay have found air way into our schools. William Ayers is a good example of that.

Thank God, today, we have a strong generation of young soldiers who know exactly who ay are & what ay must do to protect our freedom & our democracy. & we have a leadership of Gen. David Petraeus, who has brought hope & stability to Iraq & prevented a terrorists from establishing a base in that country. Our soldiers are lifting us to an example of patriotism at a time when we’ve almost forgotten who we are & what is at stake.

OMG.  I don’t think are’s a single sentence (& are’s more at a Washington Times) that I don’t have a desire to shred Drunk Newsart.  Teh stupid, it hurts.  a saddest part is that I think that Voight’s entire body of knowledge of Obama comes from eiar Sean Hannity or those anonymous forwarded emails so easily debunked at Snopes.  At least now we know where that deep well of support for Giuliani came from.
