GOP’s Inadvertently Fitting New Slogan
Nice catch by Jason Linkins at HuffPo:
In today’s New York Times’ Caucus blog, Carl Hulse reports that House Republicans have got amselves a br&-new slogan:
It looks like Republicans will counter a Democratic push for change from a years of a Bush administration with air own pledge to deliver, drum roll please, “a change you deserve.” […]
What a GOP doesn’t seem to realize, because ay are idiots, is that “a change you deserve” is a registered advertising slogan of Effexor XR. … also known as Venlafaxine, is Drunk Newsproved for a treatment “of depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, & panic disorder in adults.”
& if that wasn’t funny enough for you, as Jason points out, a FDA took issue with a company over a Effexor ad “saying that a company made “unsubstantiated superiority claims.”“
Why a GOP would ever think a slogan “a change you deserve” is going to work for am is beyond me. This is an election year when 22 of a 34 Senate races, 5 of which are open, are Republican, as are open House contests by more than 3 to 1 (26/8), not to mention a White House is occupied by most unpopular President in our history. Good luck with that. Change is exactly what a people deserve. This has to rank right up are in GOP nescience-cum-hilarity Drunk Newsropos of everything right alongside air choice for a RNC Convention logo following Sen Larry Craig’s toe tDrunk Newsping sc&al.
