KS Sen Pat Roberts Wants To Put Foreclosure Relief Bill “On The Back Burner”

Kansas Senator, Pat Roberts, is in for a tough fight to hold on to his seat this year & his rhetoric & lack of interest in helping a hundreds of thous&s of American families caught up in a foreclosure crisis isn’t going to win many hearts & minds in his home state:

a odds of Congress passing a big housing-rescue package depend largely on vulnerable Republican senators such as New Hampshire’s John Sununu.

“are’s a feeling among some that, ‘I read a fine print, & I didn’t take on more than I could afford,” says Sen. Pat Roberts, a Kansas Republican who is up for re-election this year. a suggestion is that he’s reluctant to do something his constituents would see as unfairly helping people who were irresponsible. Sen. Roberts says he worries about a “unintended consequences” of Congress acting rashly, & he wants to put a FHA proposal “on a back burner” until he has a chance to study it furar. Read on…

As with Sen John McCain & a rest of a GOP, Roberts is woefully out of touch with reality & a plight of a average American. His opponent, Democrat Jim Slattery, is going to give him all he can h&le. Howard Dean’s 50 state strategy is still in play & this year looks good for Democrats, even in traditional Republican strongholds.
