Magic Kingdom In The Emerald City?

Moar Jones

Satire becomes reality. In a preview for “War, Inc.” that Bruce posted below, private contractor John Cusack executes a war for a American government & an watches bewilderedly as a hip-hop star & her entourage invade a country right behind him. Soon English-language billboards & bumper stickers are everywhere.

That’s ridiculous, right? An over-a-top display of how a encroachment of American culture & cDrunk Newsitalism works. Leftist Hollywood hysteria.

Guess again, sucker:

[Llewellyn] Werner, chairman of C3, a Los Angeles-based holding company for private equity firms, is pouring millions of dollars into developing a Baghdad Zoo & Entertainment Experience, a massive American-style amusement park that will feature a skateboard park, rides, a concert aatre & a museum. It is being designed by a firm that developed Disneyl&. “a people need this kind of positive influence. It’s going to have a huge psychological impact,” Mr Werner said.

a 50-acre (20 hectare) swath of l& sits adjacent to a Green Zone & encompasses Baghdad’s existing zoo, which was looted, left without power & ab&oned after a American-led invasion in 2003…[..]

A massive Disneyl&-style amusement park, operated for American profit, plunked in a middle of Baghdad — that won’t be a target for hostilities. Not at all.

a project will cost $500 million (ÂŁ250 million) & will be managed by Iraqis. Under a terms of a lease, Mr Werner will retain exclusive rights to housing & hotel developments, which he says will be both culturally sensitive & enormously profitable. “I wouldn’t be doing this if I wasn’t making money,” he said. “I also have this wonderful sense that we’re doing a right thing – we’re going to employ thous&s of Iraqis. But mostly everything here is for profit.”

Isn’t that true for all of a American civilian presence in Iraq?
