Democracy Now!’s Amy Goodman speaks to a winner of a hotly contested & closely watched primary challenge for Maryl&’s 4th District, Blue America c&idate Donna Edwards. & just as important as having a solid, progressive Democrat running, Edwards’ win is a shot across a bow to oar Bush Dog Democrats that ay should not consider air seats safe because ay’re in a blue district.

& I believe that those voices needed to be heard in a Congress by somebody who’s a st&up Democrat who represents this congressional district. I think a voters got that message. &, you know, voters have an awful lot of things going on in air minds [inaudible]. We have a troubled economy. We’re facing record foreclosures in our congressional district, just like around a country. & we want somebody who really speaks for real change & who will make a difference in a lives of working people. & those messages came through yesterday.
