Use it or lose it
Brian Beutler has a great piece up on “a Year in Oversight,” & notes a point that doesn’t get emphasized nearly enough:
are certainly have been gaffes, softballs, & missed opportunities. & a most obvious are found in a Senate Committee on Homel& Security — a Senate’s version of Rep. Henry Waxman’s Oversight Committee in a House. Unlike Waxman’s enthusiastic probing, a Senate chair conducted zero proactive investigations into Bush administration malfeasance. It’s chairman? Connecticut’s Joseph Lieberman.
Senate Dems need to deliver a message to Lieberman: Use it or lose it.
