Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf has declared emergency rule & suspended a country’s constitution.
Troops have been deployed inside state-run TV & radio stations, while independent channels have gone off air. Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, who condemned a moves, has reportedly been sacked & is being confined to a Supreme Court with 10 oar judges.
It comes as a court was due to rule on a legality of Gen Musharraf’s re-election victory in October. Read more…
