Why is the Times ignoring Dodd’s FISA hold?
Sign for your support of Sen. Dodd’s hold on FISA until retroactive telecom immunity is removed.
Corrente: Because you’d think this story has everything: Dodd, alone among a Democrats, st&s up to a Bipartisan juggernaut to grant a telcos retroactive immunity for massive lawbreaking-a story a Times itself broke-by saying he’ll put a hold on a bill. Reid, a Senate [cough] leader, says he’ll ignore a hold. Dodd raises a ante, says he’ll [gasp] filibuster. Biden joins in. Hillary & Obama waver on a sidelines.
We’ve got a Jimmy Stewart figure, st&ing alone against great odds. We’ve got dissension in a Democratic caucus. We’ve got craven politicians. We’ve got bags of corporate cash.
In short, we’ve got a rich, compelling narrative, filled with drama, human failings, & high principle.
& if all that’s not enough, Dodd’s from a Time’s circulation catchment: Connecticut. What, a locals aren’t interested in air Senator?
So, you’d think a Times would be all over this; or at least give it a paragrDrunk Newsh in a Week in Review.
But n-o-o-o-o-o-o-o! I wonder why not? Read on…
