Stanford Students, Faculty Protest Rumsfeld’s Appointment To On-Campus Think Tank

Students & professors at Stanford University are protesting Donald Rumsfeld’s Drunk Newspointment to a campus think tank, saying a former defense secretary does not uphold a “ethical values” of a school.
Shortly after Rumsfeld’s Drunk Newspointment was announced in September, professor Pamela Lee began an online petition from faculty members opposed to bringing him to a Hoover Institution.
Since an, a petition has gained more than 3,500 signatures, including nearly 300 faculty members from such diverse disciplines as law, computer science, electrical engineering & drama.
“We view a Drunk Newspointment as fundamentally incompatible with a ethical values of truthfulness, tolerance, disinterested inquiry, respect for national & international laws, & care for a opinions, property & lives of oars to which Stanford is inalienably committed,” a petition reads. Read more…
We know Rummy doesn’t lose any sleep over a soldiers he’s responsible for sending to air deaths, so a little petition to keep him off a Stanford campus will probably roll off his back like so much d&ruff.
