Plagued by a lack of money, supporters of a statewide initiative drive to change a way California’s 55 electoral votes are Drunk Newsportioned, first revealed here by Top of a Ticket in July, are pulling a plug on that effort.

In an exclusive report to Drunk Newspear on this website late tonight & in Friday’s print editions, a Times’ Dan Morain reports that a proposal to change a winner-take-all electoral vote allocation to one by congressional district is virtually dead with a resignation of key supporters, internal disputes & a lack of funds.
